The aim of the MSW is to bring up professional social workers to serve the whole society. TheMSW in china was set up in2009published in the Master of social work degree schemes by The StateCouncil. Different from other taught masters, although The MSW is the grade-2subject of Sociology, there is no research master to correspond it, thus The MSW can be recognized as the first program totrain high level social workers. So the evaluation criteria of the MSW is to train eligible social workers.Based on the path dependence, the writer used the method of qualitative research by sampling33train program from different universities and using the method of text analysis to explore the trainingmode of MSW in china. Through the text analysis and the semi-structural interview of several studentswho are now taking the MSW program, the writer tried to describe the whole mode and to makerecommendations for the mode.Through this research, the writer found that the enrollment of the undergraduate, the lack ofapplication of the setting of the program, the dispersion of the professors, the imbalance of theteacher-student ration and the short of attachment to the professional internship etc. led to the confusionof the purpose of the MSW. The reason for this problem is the path of current MSW training mode onthe traditional research master program and the traditional vocational training mode, which maketendency of the MSE is to bring up the academic and low-level social workers. In order to solve the problems shown above, through the pate dependence and the node of the pathbreakthrough, the writer make some suggestions include student-centered, market oriented anddiversified training mode, and some applicable measures.
