Based on the research of the first--hand corpus, this paper mainly contrast and analyzes the errors of Chinese characters. Chinese character errors are divided into three major types:wrongly written characters, mispronounced characters and none-standard characters. By comparing the data of Chinese character errors of different levels, the finding shows that the awareness of Chinese Orthography of students will be strengthened gradually with the progress of learning. The proportion of wrongly written characters will decrease and mispronounced characters will increase greatly. The proportion of wrongly written characters and mispronounced characters will maintain a certain ratio substantially and no longer change significantly when their Chinese reach a comparatively high level. And all the respondents are divided into kanji background group and Non-kanji background group, and then contrasts and analyzes the different characteristics of Chinese character errors between the two groups horizontally. The finding shows that the proportion of wrongly written characters of kanji background group in the same level is much lower than the non-kanji background group, the proportion of mispronounced characters is higher than non-kanji background group. This paper also investigates the respondents’strategies for learning Chinese characters and explores the relations between learning strategies and Chinese character errors by Spss. The research shows that Chinese character errors have some relations with the strategies for learning Chinese characters. However native language background and other factors have an important impact on the correlation analysis between the strategies for learning Chinese characters and Chinese character errors.
