Whether left-behind children can grow up healthily not only determines the rise and fall of their families but also is of vital importance to the prosperity and development of rural areas. Therefore, it is indispensible to understand their practical conditions such as life and psychological status and address such problems. Introducing professional social work methods to solving the problem is a supplement to traditional government model and is of great theoretical and practical significance.Through a survey of Z left-behind children center in Shiquan County, Shaanxi Province, the paper, by means of questionnaire and interview, tries to understand the predicaments that left-behind children may encounter in aspects such as their living, learning and mental health and analyzes the current working situation of the center. On the basis of Ecological Systems Theory and resilience perspective and focusing on their behavior bias and growth problems, the paper introduces the methods of case study and group work and tries to relieve difficulties of individual cases and even of the whole. The purpose of group work is to foster the concept of "help others by helping themselves " and to some extent, form a harmonious relationship where they can help each other.Combining field survey and practice experience, the author has a reflection on development strategies of social work in left-behind children problem. Resources like governments, non-governmental organizations, communities, schools and families can make efforts to the growth and development of these children.
