Foreign works into Chinese language teaching materials have been93years of history, respect and understanding of multiculturalism has become an irreversibletrend as the political, economic globalization impact on China, and continuously push forward the reform of language courses, foreign works and therefor eincreasingly more attention, people come to realize the importance of foreign works. It is not only open for students an understanding of other cultures, window to the world, but also conducive to the cultivation of students multicultural literacy and humanities. Many front-line teachers and scholars have conducted in-depth research in the field of practical and theoretical achieved some results, I stand on the shoulders of our predecessors on this basis, to further expand and explore.In this dissertation,I investigate the New course of People’s Education Press in middle and high school language teaching materials foreign works, selected text, the principles of selected text, layout system, the value of selected text, pointing out its features and problems, and foreign work steaching situation analysis and reflection, proposed recommendations to select, organize and teaching of foreign works:to expand the area of foreign works selected text, establish independent foreign works scheduling system, andrestore the background and diverse interpretation of teaching strategies. Toforeign language textbook writers compile foreign works and front-line language teachers work teaching space available for further investigation.
