The body is evidence of people living in the world, an important and fundamentaldimension of our identity. Body forming a first perspective we perceive the world, itmeans that,body forms the pattern that we connect with the world. The society constructthe people’s interests, needs, habits, worldview, values, behavior through the constructionof people’s body. Since the1980s, China’s urban material life is greatly enriched lifestylemajor shift large urban construction, food and clothing to people living with the line.These surface changes actually conceal deeper inner change. Directly face the changesand challenges is the body. Western society has achieved very rich theoretical results ofbody and the domestic body research is still in its infancy, mainly from the theory offoreign monographs reference. This issue is also hoping to sort out the theoretical resultsof the theory of the body in Western society, since the second half of the20thcentury.Through the analysis of the legalization process of weight loss of this socialphenomenon to explain the physical process of construction of the modern city. Taken inthe course of the study, the questionnaire,100questionnaires were collected, to get therelevant information for the contemporary diet phenomenon. At the same time,took thein-depth interviews.In the process of talking with the object under investigation, graspthe individual psychological discipline imposed by the body through weight loss.The issue is divided into four major sections.Part I: This paper discusses the weight loss of the legalization process. This sectionincludes the "fat stigma" and "the internalization of losing weight ". respectively, fromthe "classification between fat and thin " and "’fat’ as a symbol ", and" socialevaluation "and" fat punishment "to interpretate. Intended to reveal the so-called "fat" isa cultural construct, and weight loss is forced on people in this social environment.Part II: Discussing the growing weight loss problem, even showing a tendency tohysteria. This section includes "the unbearable body " and "excessive weight loss "in twoways. Intended to describe the weight loss is caused by social problems and it bringspsychological pressure to lose weight.Part III: Discusse the characteristics of the modern city on the body discipline. Thissection includes "visual dominate ","giving priority to efficiency "and" homogeneity " three parts. This part mainly summarized the characteristics of the modern city is thatpeople’s bodies to construct visual efficiency and homogeneity.Part IV: Discuss that in the modern city, the sinking of the body. This sectionincludes a "simplified body" and "narcissistic". In the modern city, the body is in thesituation of being simplified and deprived.In this case, there is a growing retreated totheir own private areas, more and more narcissistic.
