The Study In The Characteristic Of Development Of Higher Learning Institution

Presently, with the rapid development of the society and the increasingly fiercercompetition, countries in the world are seeking diversified development and effective ways toenhance the core competitiveness, which is undoubtedly put forward the new requirements ofthe development of education. Now all of colleges and universities have begun to focus on thecharacteristic construction of their own schools, in order to enhance the core competitivenessand cultivate talents to adapt to social development. Along with our country’s reform andopen policy, more and more private higher learning institutions have been attracted muchattention after their schools establishments, especially in "the same of thousands of schools"and in the appeal for the development of school characteristic in the background of the time,the characteristic and development of Civilian-run colleges and universities have still becomea community-wide concern, which will break through whether in theory or in practice. In sucha background, with the help of education and other related theories, taking one private higherlearning institution as an example, this article will study in the development of characteristicof private higher learning institutions both in theoretical research and with exact examples.First of all, this article starts with the connotation of comprehensive university runningcharacteristic, on the basis of the private higher learning institutions’ characteristics, makesfurther analyze from the aspects of development status, the development significance as wellas the mode of development, and outlines the characteristic of education in privateuniversities, and also summarizes some special problems which the private colleges anduniversities at the present stage are faced with in the development process. These problemspresent mainly in five aspects:1.outline the original characteristic and don’t take advantage ofthe original priority;2. fix the position blindly and lose the original features;3. follow thespecialty of establishment and ignore their own educational resources;4.be the same with talent cultivation and separate the demand from the social industry;5. have only onesingle characteristic and be not enough to support the development. Presently, many privatecolleges and universities are easy to walk into these mistakes in the pursuit of thecharacteristic development, thereby it affects the formation of the characteristics of running aschool, and it also delays the characteristics of schools’ development.Then, this paper selects one private higher learning institution which is very fruitful inthe aspect of a characteristic development—take Shaanxi International Trade College as acase, makes further empirical research on private universities development. After a thoroughinvestigation and study, from four angles of geography, policy, economy and humanities, thispaper demonstrates one particular and special school where exists in the regional environmentand influences on schools’ characteristics and help. To understand the case school’ssynchronous and uniform characteristic construction from different aspects of orientation,professional and curriculum, personnel training as well as the construction of teachers, so asto realize the steady development of characteristic.Finally, this paper summarizes the formation of one particular and special school’scharacteristics in the process of development experience, and gives the reference andreasonable suggestions of the characteristics of the development for the private colleges anduniversities. We consider that if the characteristics of the development of private universitiesare followed the following five principles:1. combine the features of regional environmentand form the characteristics of a school;2. have a clear orientation and guide characteristicdevelopment,3. integrate advanced resources and run its specialty;4. carry out professionaltalent training according to the needs of modern industry;5. do the implementation ofinteractive features and make the faculty features of the special teachers, they are surely toavoid the above five problems arisen successfully in the process of the development of thecharacteristics, so as to highlight the running school’s characteristics better and walk into the characteristics of the development track.
