Problems In Children’s Home Caring Model For Children With Disabilities And Development Prospects

In our country it is the state children’s home which is built by the government that take the responsible for taking care of the homeless children with disabilities. The way in which the children’s home take care for children with disabilities is that the children live in the children’s home and they can get a range of services to meet their development from the children’s home. That is called children’s home caring model. The article first discusses the reasons why our country selects the model to care for the homeless children with disabilities. Besides, the background in which children’s home caring model for the children with disabilities exists is also discussed. Through the above, the article illustrates the rationality why children’s home caring model is applicable to our country nowadays. The data collection in this article is based on a children’s home in Nanjing. There is a detailed description about children’s home caring model for children with abilities. The article gives the framework of the overall appearance that how those children with disabilities live in the Children’s home. With the in-depth analysis of the problems of children’s home caring model for children with disabilities, the article agrees that children’s home caring model has the following problem: the isolated environment of children’s home is not conducive to the socialization of children with disabilities; the relative shortage of human capital and resources in children’s home; the relationship between the caregivers and children with disabilities needs to be improved; the network of resources of children’s home needs to be expanded; the regulatory evaluation of care services for children with disabilities needs to be strengthened and so on. Finally, based on the exposition of our present situation and problems of children’s home caring model for children with disabilities, from the aspects of the allocation of resources, the practice of child care and parenting philosophy and so on, this article looks into the future of the children’s home caring model that can improve the environment for the growth of the children with disabilities and promote their development.
