Although China’s curriculum reform of basic education is based on many theories,manyscholars have reached a consensus on a constructivist orientation of New Curriculum Reform.With the implementation of our country’s basic education curriculum reform,that teacherschange the traditional concepts of education, internalize new curriculum ideas and formconstructivist beliefs about education in the line with new curriculum ideas is an urgent need.In this context, the investigation on educational beliefs of tuition-free normal college studentsas will-be teachers is of great importance. From the perspective of educational beliefsorientation,this study includes three questions.The first one is which tendency educationalbeliefs of the tuition-free normal college students share? The second one is whethereducational beliefs of tuition-free normal college students under the different backgroundvariables make a significant difference or not? The third one is what factors influenceeducational beliefs of tuition-free normal college students?The self-made questionnaires are used to investigate320tuition-free normal collegestudents in the Northeast Normal University,and7students of them are interviewed. Afterstatistical analysis and interview survey data analysis,conclusions are drawn:1.The educational beliefs of tuition-free normal college students are generallyconstructivist-oriented.2.Differences are observed among tuition-free normal college students with differentbackground variables in terms of their educational beliefs.Furthermore,their educationalbeliefs are statistically significant differences in respect of study year、hometown、majors.3.The educational beliefs of tuition-free normal college students are influenced by manyfactors.To be specific,the influencing factors are as follows: teachers’ professional reputation、social expectations、family education, character、 teachers or educational celebrities they ownappreciate、past the primary and secondary learning experience(management of elementaryand middle school、the study of elementary and middle schools’ curriculum、primary andjunior high school teachers、class leader experiences)、teacher education experience(theuniversity campus cultural activities、the study of all kinds of courses、different teachingexperiences、teacher educators、peer group)et al.Based on the results of this study,suggestions are proposed for tuition-free normalcollege students and normal universities.
