High school students especially arts students go through highschool in-depth geography learning system, so they should get a higher capacity of thegeographic space. The first basis concept in country education geography curriculumstandards is studying useful geography to the lifelong development This requiresgeography learners establisht geo-spatial concepts, and form geo-spatial ability. Butthe ability of geo-spatial positioning ability is the basic ability of the students toobtain the geo-spatial ability, and it is one of the abilities that students should beformed. The purpose of this study is to explore the changes of high school geo-spatialpositioning ability under the treatment of using the strategy map. The design was usedand the students in one school of Jixi, HeiLongjiang province were invited toparticipate. The research tool is "High school geo-spatial ability tests".The resultsindicated that the map strategy on students’ geo-spatial ability were gradual and thenet impacts were identified in the regression analysis after six months. In addition, although both classes exhibited significant growth in their geo-spatial abilities, theexperimental group outperformed their counterparts. It was implied that map strategycan gradually influence students’ abilities. Lastly, the test items showed that thestudents’analysis and evaluation and position expressioning abilities should beimproved better.
