The development of space capabilities will be one of the most important contents of the new mathematics curriculum in junior high school. With the deepening of curriculum reform, students' levels have changed a lot in the past ten years. It also made the teaching and learning of the geometry curriculum have a huge change. The junior high school is an important period for the students to change their spatial abilities from intuition thinking to logic thinking. Therefore, the researchers believe that the research about spatial ability of the junior high school students is very important. And it will be a great significance to find out their respective characteristics and the levels in different grades, levels, genders and regions. It will help a lot to guide the teachers in geometry teaching.This paper is divided into five parts, the first part describes the background of the issues, the requirements and defects of the development of space capability for our junior high students and significances of this article in our country. The second part mainly studies the definition, structure, elements and ability level of the space capability.The third part analyzes the features of space capability for junior middle school students in different grades, levels, genders and regions through the questionnaire. The fourth part presents teaching suggestions and teaching strategies based on the analysis. The fifth part checks the feedback and strategies are valid or not through the teaching practice.In the study, researchers found that the level of current features and the division of space capabilities for junior high school get much attention in many countries. But the level standard in our country is not clear enough and we don't have an operational guidance. After surveying the curriculum standard in other countries, I found that Chinese course standard has fuzziness and generality, so this article studies the current definition of spatial ability, structural elements and levels by using the foreign standards. Under the same structural elements and levels, students show their different characteristics of the spatial abilities based on their different grades, levels, genders and regions. Researchers made questionnaire and tests, which can reflect the recent structural elements and levels of middle school students in China with the help of statistics from different cities, areas and school districts, to find the commonness and difference in characteristics after analyzing the statistics. For example, the disparity in different students from different levels are increasing, the differences between boys and girls are mainly about the abilities of spatial concepts and spatial imageries, the variety in solutions and standardization in element of geometry between students from cities and villages are different. By analyzing these differences, researchers put forwards relevant teaching suggestions and strategies from different aspects, such as changing ideas, developing abilities, focusing on basic skills and conception of space. By communicating with teachers, researchers give their teaching suggestions and strategies and pay attention to students' reaction and activity effect. Then teacher will receive relevant advice.,write teaching cases and feedback.I hope the paper will help to develop the abilities of the middle school teachers and the concept of middle school students.
