In recent years, badminton is becoming unprecedentedly popular. The aim of PE class inschool is to strengthen student’s physical condition, instruct knowledge of PE, apply skills,and nourish the students take part in the sport activities actively as well as realizing thelifelong goal of physical training for citizens. Therefore, badminton training course isattracting more and more attention. Meanwhile, a series of problems are following.The beginner of badminton always neglects footwork, which is so vital that influence theskill of badminton as a whole. Therefore, the PE education should convert the ideas of thebeginner. For taking learning and training footwork seriously, teachers should make theeducation of footwork as a crucial instructing content. According to the research, although theresearch on badminton training emerge in endlessly, the research on footwork is rare.Therefore, we badly need to find more innovative and updating methods on footworkeducation.As a relatively material psychological training method, imagery training has beenapplied to various sports items and has already gained many successful experiences. Startingfrom the reality combining the experiences and achievement made by predecessors as well aslearning the latest foreign PE education, this essay has worked out a set of footwork teachingmethod. The aim is to enrich badminton education, promote teaching method and enhanceteaching quality. I have got conclusion as follows:(1)In the process of footwork teaching, imagery training improves the accuracy of thestudents and enriches the teaching content of badminton. It is an excellent teaching method.(2)Students of imagery training behave better than those of traditional teaching, whichillustrate the imagery training can better improve the effect of teaching.(3)After a certain time of training, experimental group has dramatically improved theimagery ability of the students.
