The Convention on the Rights of the Child acknowledges that every child has certain basic rights, including the right to life, be protected from abuse or exploitation and the right to development. The Convention also acknowledges that children have the right to express their opinions and to have those opinions heard and acted upon when appropriate. But the national used to ignore the concerning their care and asks that the child’s viewpoint be heard in such cases. The migrant peasant, who building and promoting the development of the cities we are living in, has made huge contribution in the process of urbanization in China, yet they did not get the same treatment as the urban residents. Protection and development of the rights of the migrant peasant, as well as the social problems with people floating into cities, have attracted the attention of people from all walks of society and scholars from different fields. Following the steps of their parents, many children migrated into cities as well, and started to live and learn there, many of them took the responsibility to take care of family life and their younger siblings independently. What are these floating children’s viewpoint about their families, schools and communities, and what are their expectations and demands for the social and ecological environment around them?With the purpose of promoting the improvements of the migrant children’s families, schools and communities, and cultivating their awareness of modern civic, this paper tends to use group intervention to stimulate the awareness of participation of these floating children in WangJiaQiao Community, and to show their expectations and demands at the same time. During the process of group intervention we found that to stimulate the awareness of participation of the migrant children, the following support are needed:the impetus of Non-Governmental Organizations, the care and support from their families, the promotion of the private schools they attended, and the cultivation of the communities they lived in. We also reflect on children’s group work in this paper, in order to give some advices to children’s activity centers who supplied services to the migrant children, and to promote the awareness of participation of them.
