This study selected "Manchu Hebao", in Fengcheng county in Liaoning Provinc, as a case study, trying to explain why a very old man made a choice to fabric "Manchu Hebao" and how he took20years to study, develop the "Manchu Hebao". Hebao has faded out from everyday life for almost100years. Today,"Manchu Hebao" turns up to be a symbol of Manchu culture in Fengcheng county in Liaoning Province and a commodity in the tourism market. By studying the change of "Manchu Hebao", I will discuss the emotion and experience of the object of study and the commercialization of Manchu Hebao. The structure of the dissertation is as follows:In chapter1, firstly I will explain the origin of this research, and put forward the issues of my concern; The second part is research review of national, folk art of Anthropology of art, according to the research orientation, thirdly, I will account for the specific content of the study of this dissertation and the research methods. Finally, I will briefly introduce what is Hebao and depict the history of Hebao.In chapter2,I will try to explain why the object ot the study made a choice to fabric "Manchu Hebao" and how he studied and developed the "Manchu Hebao". He firstly was just curious about his own identity of Manchu and then became proud of Manchu culture. In this process, he was attracted strongly by the beauty of Hebao in photograph, museum and antique market. The emotion motivated him to construct a charastaristic knowledge hierarchy about "Manchu Hebao" and make great efforts to study how to fabric "Manchu Hebao" and improve the quality. Even in his oppion,"Manchu Hebao" is better than the Hebao of other minzu.In chapter3, the object of the study was in the successful development of "Manchu Hebao", and as to seek others recognition, he put "Manchu Hebao" to the market. I will describe how commercialization brought changes and what happened to the shape, quality, pattern and function of Hebao. I will represent how H tried hard to impart his knowledge to the customers to remain the significance he endows "Manchu Hebao".Chapter4is about that H has always followed the national ideology and been active to attend event of the nation and when he was successfully in developing Manchu Hebao, local government supported him voluntarily. Then with the help of local government,"Manchu Hebao" became the symbol of the local minzu’s culture.In conclusion, fistly, I will emphasize the emotion and experience behind the behavior of an ordinary people and respect his creation and expression. I will point out that people who is free to think and express his emotion will enrich the diversity of culture. Secondly, I will discuss the relation between human and material and the social life of things. Finally, I will discuss the existing conditions of the protection of local minzu culture.
