In recent years, the phenomenon of spatial scale dependence has caused widespread concern in academic circles. Multiple scales from observation space of the relationship between population and economy is helpful to understand the distribution regularity of population.Since the reform and opening up, Zhejiang regional economy is growing rapidly, and the province within the internal economic structure has undergone drastic changes, At the same time, economic space changes lead to huge population distribution pattern changes. But the previous relevant literature research with single scale is insufficient, can not fully reveal the space relationship of population and economy in Zhejiang province. To this end, this article from multiple scales to study the distribution of population distribution and economic distribution of spatial relations, has important theoretical and practical significance of the correct understanding of population distribution in Zhejiang province.Based on the density index, population and economic agglomeration index, population and economic growth indicators from the provincial, city, county three scale on the distribution of correlation of population and economic space of Zhejiang province at qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results show that the provincial, city, county three scales in the density index space pattern of association is strong. And on the degree of agglomeration index correlation analysis, whether city or county, present significant correlation, county correlation coefficient is bigger than the regional scale. And the growth elasticity index, population, economic growth rate does not show strong correlation, correlation is not significant in the short term, but the elastic coefficient shows, during the period of1990to2010, with the economic changes in population rise in relative sensitivity, formation and development in the form of the administrative center of the city as the core of population and economic growth form.In this study, taken to reflect the population and economic indicators of density, agglomeration level indicators and growth elasticity indicators to analyze in more detailprovide a presentation on the three scales of the provincial, municipal domain, county about information of population, and economic distribution.
