The fact that higher vocational and technical education has gradually spread over half of China’s higher education is undisputable. So far, higher vocational and technical education has trained a large number of talents with professional skills for China’s economic development. When higher vocational education is in its full swing, we should be aware that while vocational skills being taught to the students, strengthening Humanistic-qualities-oriented education cannot be ignored. Humanistic-quality oriented education is the one which transforms, human good moral characters and Humanities knowledge into students’ intrinsic personalities through a variety of educational ways. Strengthening the combination of humanistic-quality oriented education and technical education in higher vocational and technical colleges plays an very important role in enhancing students’comprehensive and sound development. However, problems such as putting undue stress on training of professional skills and professional abilities and overlooking the students’humanistic-quality-oriented education do exist in some higher vocational schools, though degrees are different. Therefore, we should fully analyze the characteristics of higher vocational education, pay attention to students’humanistic-quality-oriented education, find a suitable way of humanistic quality education for higher vocational students, ultimately improving students’ humane quality so as to reach the objective of developing high-quality professional and skilled personnel in an all-round way.Based on his more than10years of vocational education work experience and the large amount of questionnaire investigation combined with related research experiences and results at home and abroad, the author studies the current humanistic-quality-oriented education in higher vocational and technical colleges, analyzes the content and features of humanistic-quality-oriented education, defines the connotation of humanistic-quality oriented education and put forward the necessity of humanistic-quality-oriented education at vocational and technical colleges. In articles, the author makes further analysis on current status and problems of humanistic-quality-oriented education at higher vocational and technical colleges, which feature lack of humanistic knowledge and abilities, deterioration of humanistic spirit, backwardness of schooling, insufficiency of education resources and missing out of educational mechanism. Practical ways for enhancing humanistic quality oriented education at higher vocational and technical colleges are suggested in terms of education concept, courses integration, campus culture, teaching staff and establishment of evaluation system.All in all, strengthening students’ humanistic-quality-oriented education is the goal of higher education in21st century as well as the necessary request of building high-tech society.
