Research On Testing Method On Algorism In Selection Test

The latest mathematics curriculum reform in accordance with the High School Mathematics Curriculum Standard (Trail)(hereafter referred to as HSMCS) emphasizes on the adjustment and improvement on curriculum and course content, so as to fully represent the diversity, selectivity and conformity to times of the courses. Algorithm was added into the for two important reasons. Firstly, to combine the teaching of mathematics and computer science; secondly, algorithm is applied in widespread areas.Algorithm has an important role to play in assessing of student’s learning of high school mathematics as the algorism takes to permeate into related courses with the advances of the HSMCS. However, it fails to attract due attention of the examination designers due to its simplicity and few credit hours arranged according to HSMCS. That explains the monotony of the way of testing(block diagram or algorithmic language) in different entrance exam papers across the country so far. Undoubtedly, it falls short of the requirement in HSMCS since the monotonous way of testing can not represent the role of algorism as a tool. To conclude, the testing on algorism is especially important in selection tests.Related study shows that the knowledge on algorism is tested mainly in way of choices and gap-filling, among which the majority places emphasis on the intersection of algorism with other knowledge. Yet, the intersection remains to be different knowledge sectors to be pieced together and few was to test the integration on mathematics thinking methods. Obviously, this way of testing fails to reflect the aim of HSMCS which turn "algorism" into required course. To sum up, this paper sets out to take the following two aspects as major research objectives.(1) The examination designing of testing on integration of mathematics thinking method on algorism with related knowledge.(2) The examination designing of testing on algorism in way of calculation questions.
