In this study, all the participants are the high school students. The study investigated the level of moral disengagement of the high school students by using the self-designed Moral Disengagement Questionnaire, the Parental Bonding Instrument and the Self-esteem Scale which have good reliability and validity. T-test, ANOVA, correlation and regression were used to compute the data. This study also explored the relationship among the parenting style, self-esteem and the moral disengagement of high school students in order to supply some theoretic basis for the moral education of the high school students. The results are as following:(1) Self-designed moral disengagement questionnaire includes three factors: cognition reconstruction, conceal or misinterpret the influence of the harmful behaviours and reduce the identity of the victims. The questionnaire has good reliability and validity and can be used as a research tool in the following study.(2) Students got low scale scores of the moral disengagement questionnaire. As for the three factors, cognition reconstruction got the highest score while conceal or misinterpret the influence of the harmful behaviours got the lowest score.(3) Moral disengagement in different gender, different grades and different urban-rural areas were significant different, however, there were no significant differences in family economic condition and whether or not one-child family. Reduce the identity of the victims in different family economic conditions was significant different.(4) There is significant correlation among the parenting style, self-esteem and the moral disengagement of high school students. Moral disengagement was associated negatively with father’s (mother’s) love and understanding while it was associated positively with father’s (mother’s) control. Moral disengagement was also associated negatively with self-esteem.(5) Parenting style and self-esteem had distinct predictive effect on moral disengagement. Father’s control and mother’s control can positively predict the level of moral disengagement. Mother’s love and understanding, self-esteem can negatively predict the level of moral disengagement. Self-esteem played a part of the intermediary role in the relationship between parenting style and moral disengagement.
