A Study On Relation Among College Students’ Parenting Style,moral Disengagement And Prosocial Behaviors

In this study,all the participants are the college students.The study investigated the level of moral disengagement of the college students from 3 university in Sichuan by using the Chinese version of Civic Moral Disengament Scale,Egma Minnen av Bardndosna Uppforstran Scale and Pro- social Tendencies Measure.Then we analysed the data from the valid questionnaires we recollected by using T-test,correlation and regression,to explored the current situation of moral disengagement and prosocial behaviors of college students,and the relationship among the parenting style,prosocial behaviors and the moral disengagement of college students.The results are as following:(1) College students got low scores of the moral disengagement scale, As for the 8 factors,Blame attribution got the highest score. Moral disengagement in different gender and different urban-rural places were significant different,however, there were no significant differences in different major and whether or not one-child family.(2) College students got over middle scores of the Pro-social Tendencies Measure, As for the 6 factors,Compliance got the highest score.Prosocial behaviors in different gender,different urban-rural places and whether or not one-child familywere significant different.(3) Moral disengagement was associated negatively with father’s love and understanding and mother’s warm understanding while it was associated positively with father’s(mother’s) Excessive interference,severe and punishment,Overprotection,Refused and deny.(4) Prosocial behaviors was associated positively with father’s love and understanding and mother’s warm understanding while it was associated negatively with father’s(mother’s),severe and punishment,refused and deny.(5) Father’s warm understanding and mother’s warm understanding can negatively predict the level of moral disengagement.Father’s severe and punishment and mother’s severe and punishment can positively predict the level of moral disengagement.(6) Father’s warm understanding and mother’s warm understanding can positively predict the level of prosocial behaviors.(7) Moral disengagement was associated negatively with prosocial behaviors.Moral disengagement had distinct negatively predictive effect on prosocial behaviors.(8) Moral disengagement played a part of the intermediary role in the relationship between parenting style and prosocial behaviors.
