Some System Research Of China Basketball Association League

According to the developing situation of the China Basketball Association (in short as “CBA”),this thesis conducted a research into the property rights system, the access system and thecheck-and-balance system of CBA League. By using research methods as documentation, Delphi technique,together with logical analysis, the author compared the CBA League with some professional leagues in theworld such as the National Basketball Association (in short as NBA), then proceeded to the next step inwhich the main existing problems in the core system of the CBA League were analyzed and summarized.Suggestions and countermeasures based on problem analyzing and summary were also offered at the end ofthis thesis.Research Conclusions of this thesis are as follows:There are three main systems in the CBA League core system: the property rights system is thebasis for CBA existence, while the access system promises the quality of the league’s matches. At the sametime, the check-and-balance system evens club’s actual strength in the league.The fundamental problem of the CBA League is the unsharpness of the property rights system.To truly reform the share-holding system, a complete system of property rights must be built up.On the other hand, in order to guarantee the league’s quality, the access system should be revisedbased on the key facilities theory and the proportionality requirement.Finally, through comparing the check-and-balance system between the NBA League and theCBA League, it is not difficult to conclude that there is no actual check-and-balance system in CBALeague. Firstly, the draft system of CBA League only aims at foreign players. Secondly, the transfersystem in under an over limitation. Thirdly, there is a salary system in the league while no club nevergenuinely accepted.Suggestions and countermeasures based on problem analyzing and summary are as follows:First and fore most, Chinese government should reduce their control of sports events, so that theCBA League can become a real social organization. Meanwhile, the CBA itself should also make thecomposing process and management systematic and scientific. Subsequently, a thorough reformation of thestockholding system in CBA League is strongly needed in order to rebuild a property system indicatingclear responsibilities and rights. Thereafter, the CBA League should make the Admission system open andtransparent, and continue the perfection of the despute settlement mechanism. As a final point, the CBALeague should follow the example of the NBA check-and-balance system, which is in favor of long-termdevelopment.
