Time management is that the individual, basing on understanding the time value and significance,displays the psychological and the behavior characteristics during his activities and realizing, monitoringand evaluating the time relationship. It consists of three dimensions, namely the sense of time value, thesense of time efficacy and the sense of the sense of time control.It is very important to cultivate students’ time management skills, during the period of university. Theeffective use of time not only determines the success or failure of the university students, but also can affecthis life development in the future. At present, Chinese domestic research mainly focuses on the relatedresearch on the description of present time management situation, time management, mental health andacademic achievement of the certain group. There are little research basing on group psychologicalcounseling to improve the college students’ time management skills.The purpose of this study were short-term intervening the college students’ time management in orderto put forward a set of effective time management measures on group psychological counseling scheme tohelp students improving their time management level. The experimental subjects are two matching classesin the education science college of Xuchang University, who divide into the experimental group of thirtystudents and the control group of thirty students. Based on the designed group psychological counselingscheme, the research adopted the field experiment method for2months of group psychological counseling.Guidance scheme were formulated on the basis of group psychological counseling correlation theorycombining with college students’ physiological and psychological development characteristics.The activity as carried out according to the structural theory model of time management disposition,which included the sense of time value, the sense of time efficacy, the sense of time control and group work.The main goal of first theme activity was to let members know groups, know and establish a collectivenorm between members, which emphasized security principles and participation principle. The secondtheme activity aimed to establish the group of unity and cohesion, let the members share their feelings in awarm and trust atmosphere, and let members understand their time values, more clearly understandthemselves and set up the correct time values in happy, positive atmosphere. The third theme activity aimed to improve time value sense of the members, understand the scientific significance of time management,clearly know how to use time, and learn how to reasonably arrange time. The fourth and five themeactivities aimed to let members distinguish things priorities, reasonably arrange time, learn to eliminateinterference, adhere to improve their time management targets, continue to overcome inertia, and furtherimprove their time management strategy. The sixth theme activity aimed to guide members to plan futurecareers, and improve their time management method for their future career planning through nearly periodof counseling activities. The last theme activity mainly dealt with separated mood, consolidate the results ofchange, predict the beautiful future, share members’ feelings and gains, and re-fill in the questionnaires,and re-affirm confidential principle by the leaders.After group psychological counseling, the members of experimental group were endeavored toimprove their time management behavior, then they felt the improvement of time management behavior.The members in the experimental group paid more efforts to show their improvement of their ability oftime management than the members in the control group. After group psychological counseling, theexperimental group paid more efforts to improve their time management behaviors than the control group.The results of the study showed that:1. After group psychological counseling intervention, the experimental group had significantdifferences (p<0.05) in view of the sense of time control the dimensions, and had non-significantdifferences in time management score and two dimensions in the sense of time value and time efficacy(p>0.05).2. After group psychological counseling intervention, existed significant differences of the averagescore in the dimension of time management score and the sense of time control (p<0.05).3. The anxiety of the experimental group declined after group psychological counseling.
