In our current exam system, exercise as an important carrier of students’ geographylearning activities, its role cannot be ignored. While the problems exposed by the students inthe aspects of cognitive deficits and deviation of thinking is more of a kind of valuableteaching resources. Establishing and applying the wrong answer record of geographicalexercise file aims to correct accordingly and taking advantage of the wrong answer record.Then, to change wrong into value, not only can strengthen the students’ ability to solveproblems, but also change the attitudes of the students towards their wrong answers.Meanwhile, it also can provide reference for the reflecting and reviewing of the teachers in acertain stage during the teaching activities.In this paper, I put the error management into the category of knowledge managementand apply this effective way of establishing wrong answer record as a useful attempt into thepractice of teaching activities. Based on the theoretical research of the existing geographicalerrors, the author classifies the errors and describe in detail about how to establish the errorfile according to different types. Through conducting the test of single group, questionnairesand interviews, aims to get further understanding of the influence on the geographical studyof the students and the geographical teaching of the teachers. The establishment of the wronganswer record file can change the attitudes of the students, strengthening theirproblem-solving ability and also can help to save time for geographical teachers, therebyimproving the teaching efficiency.The research results of this paper mainly include three aspects: firstly, to define andcategorize the frequently appeared types of students’ wrong answers of their geographicalexercises from the geographical point of view. Secondly, I have discussed the strategies of theestablishment of geographical error files attempting to manage different types of errors basedon the file that established. Finally, the author applied the method of establishing wronganswer record file into teaching practice and achieved excellent results.
