The Influence Of Social Mobility On Rural Woman’s Gender Concept

With the advancement of industrialization and urbanization, the rural surplus labor forceis growing and began a large-scale transfer to the city. According to the survey, in2011, thereare more than86million rural women migrant workers. Floating female has become a groupcannot be ignored in the urban construction, their development has also received widespreadattention.Gender concept is about the views and opinions on the positioning of the male andfemale, is an important indicator to consider the gender development and equality, equalityconcept of gender can effectively promote the harmonious development of both sexes.Especially the female’s own gender concept, is an important subjective factor to eliminategender discrimination. While influenced by the gender concept, during the flow of ruralwomen, their gender concepts have changed?Mainly based on "The Third Chinese Women Social Status Survey" in Jilin Province,supplemented by case interview, I studied the present situation of floating female and itsinfluencing factors, using a combination of quantitative and qualitative way. Comparativestudy found that the floating female’s gender concept present situation characteristic for:female capacity evaluation is generally higher; concept of gender division is more modern;gender stereotypes tend to be more dilute;more achieve self-worth do not depend on marriage;more tend to equality of power distribution; relatively weaker sense of independence. On thewhole, the floating female’s gender concept is more modern than women does not flow. Andbuilding a regression model, confirmed in addition to the age, education level and income，flow experience impact on rural woman’s social gender concept independently, but alsofurther explained the reasons for the flow experience affect the rural women’s gender concept,summarized as: Flow provides the economic base and optimal environment for theconstruction of rural women’s gender concept, and encourage them constantly improvethemselves.There is no denying that there are multiple obstacles in construct modern gender conceptin floating female, the life of rural women in city is not easy. To develop the gender conceptof floating female, even the whole, need efforts of women themselves and the whole society.
