As the minorities are an important part of college students and the major new power in minority region development, the ideological and political quality of minority college students contributes greatly and directly to local prosperity and stability, to the construction of a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way, and to the rejuvenation of Chinese nation.Though, in the universities and colleges, great emphasis has been laid on the ideological and political education of minority college students and some good results has been proved in the past decades, the dubious validity is still a long-existing obstacle in this project. Thus, for the better growth of the minority college students and the greater effectiveness in ideological and political education, a new education model suitable for minority college students should be further studied in the new era by updating the educational content, guidelines and principles, outdating the inappropriate educational patterns and teaching methods, analyzing the new ideological trends of minority college students and substantiating the educational system.This paper consists of fours parts:Introduction:in this part, the subject, status, significance, outline and methods of this study are discussed as the preliminary study work.Chapter1:the major theories on the effectiveness of ideological and political education, involving the definition, factors, assessment basis, assessment standards and assessment guidelines, are investigated as a support to this study.Chapter2:in this part, the findings and problems about effectiveness and validity in the ideological and political education of minority college students in Guangxi Normal University for nationalities are described and concluded on the basis of related questionnaires and interviews, and then the causes of these problems are further analyzed.Chapter3:in this part, the countermeasures and suggestions for improving the effectiveness of minority college students’ideological and political education in the new era are proposed by focusing on the key role of Ideological and Political Theory Course, the cultivation of Chinese national spirit, the establishment of educational model with Chinese characteristics, the major function of teachers in education and the development of minority college students’comprehensive ability.
