The Questionnaire Construction Of Spousal Exchange Relationship And Its Status Quo Investigation

The spousal relationship is the most basic, longest and special relationships. Thespousal relationship is significant to the physical and mental health of husband andwife, healthy growth of children and social stability harmonious.There are many influence factors in the relationship, and these factors are verycomplex. Previous researchers mainly focused their attention on husband’s or wife’spersonality characteristics, economic income, marriage period, social role to study itsimpact on the relationship.This paper aims to discuss spousal relationship by the unique perspective of thecouple exchange relationship, where spousal exchange is defined as a way of sharingand interactive processes based on the reaction of the spousal, is wide of both spousesdaily activities, emotions, thoughts, behaviors, ideas, etc.This study will make theoretical discussions about the characteristic, formationprocess, types, specific contents of the exchange of resources, dimensionality of thecouple exchange relationship, etc, and on this basis, combined with interviews andopen questionnaires survey, constructed the questionnaire of couple exchangerelationship and used it to measure quality of the couples exchange relationship,andaccording to the measured results to analysis the current situation of couplesexchange relationship. Finally, we’ll try to study the relation between couplesexchange and the relationship between the marital qualities.Research results:1) there are20items in the spousal exchange relationshipquestionnaire. It formed four dimensions which are family responsibility, emotionalsupport, intimacy, and be kind to each other friends and relatives. It is proved that t hequestionnaire has clear structure, good reliability and validity, and can be used tomeasure the quality of the social exchange relationship between husband and wife.2) from the overall, the quality of social exchange relationship between husband andwife is high. Spousal exchange relationship factors exists differences in age, numberof children, it means that, with the growth of age, marriageable age and the number ofchildren, the quality of the intimate relationship will be lower. There is a difference onlevel of education at family responsibility, intimate relationship and spousal exchangerelationship questionnaire and be kind to each other friends and relatives factors.Study of486subjects whose have children were found that family responsibilities,emotional support, close relationship three factors on the youngest children age aredifferences. Minimum of children aged between0~3subjects, have the highestaverage on four factors. Finally, the total score and each factor of the social exchangeof spousal was significantly associated with marital satisfaction.
