With the advent of the era of knowledge economy, talents especially innovativetalents has gradually become an important indicator for measuring a country’scomprehensive strength and level of development. However, compared with otherdeveloped countries, there is a great distance in the overall development of Chinesecurrent innovative talents, especially in the innovative talents who reflected theindependence, autonomy and individual features which is not obvious. How can wecultivate creative talents for social development and make China stand out in theincreasingly fierce international competition has become an important problem needto be solved urgently.Starting with the1960s and1970s, as the representative of the United States,with Canada, Australia and other western developed countries, raised a researchupsurge for critical thinking and its cultivation, and they took critical thinking as theobjectives of all levels of education, especially the higher education’s. Criticalthinking is a senior thinking mode which teaches people how to thinking and solveproblem effectively. It encourages people to look at the problem with suspicion, thenfound the problem. Critical thinking is the key of innovation talents to innovate, andis the first thinking paradigm of innovation talents. To a large extent, the cultivationof critical thinking is benefit to the improvement of innovation capability. Therefore,training students’ critical thinking should become an important part in the educationof our innovative talents.In view of this, this paper studies innovative talents oriented critical thinkingcultivation, based on the innovative talents in our country, and critical thinkingoriented and goal, through the understanding of the innovative talents cultivation inour country at present the challenges faced by, further analysis the fact that criticalthinking is necessary to innovative talents. In the empirical research on the actualdevelopment level of our college students’ critical thinking, and to understandAmerica’s critical thinking development. In the end, starting from the developmentof critical thinking in our country, combine with the experience of the developmentof the United States which is worth us to learn and use for reference, Finally, thepaper try to from training target, teaching mode, teacher training and campus cultural environment these four aspects to puts forward constructive suggestions for criticalthinking training work in our country.
