In the late1960s, teacher’s professionalization campaign started in the world.As the development of the social finance, the demand to the quality of the vocationalteachers became higher and higher. The train objective of the secondary vocationalschool is to bring up workers and primary trained person who have develop theirabilities in all around development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics andlabor education that could accommodate to the Modernization construction. And theworkers should also have mixed ability, working in the forefront of production,technology, service and management. The enhancement of teaching quality is thesupport of the workers’ exist and development. The teachers’ technical skill levelshould be paid more attention to. So vocational teachers’ Practical teaching abilityneed to enhance earnestly.The researches on secondary vocational school teachers’ practical teachingability mostly pay attention to how to heighten the ability, only few refer to theconnotation and structure of the ability itself. On the base of extensive collection andconclusion of the current achievement, the questionnaire survey and interview areused mainly to investigate present status of four secondary vocational schools presentsituation. Then the results are sorted out and analyzed, trying to expound theconnotation of practical teaching ability of teachers in the secondary vocationalschools, also including the outward manifestation of the ability. It needs extensiveefforts to enhance the teachers’ practical teaching ability. In the process of teachers’specialization, vocational teachers should pay more attention to the enhancement oftheir own ability, carrying on continued learning according to their own status. This isthe priority of the development of secondary vocational education. The existingproblems are pointed out according to the present status of enhancement of theteachers’ practical teaching ability, and then the causations are also analyzed in thispaper. At last, according to the theory on how to enhance ability and combining with some foreign experiences, the advices and countermeasures to enhance the secondaryvocational school teachers’ practical teaching ability are put forward with target.
