Teacher-student interaction is a very important factor which has great influence on the quality of teaching and students’ academic achievement. The aim of the study is how to promote the outcome of bilingual teaching through improving the effectiveness of teacher-student interaction under the background of vigorously advancing bilingual teaching and the new round of basic education reform on curriculum.The author does the study through the way of classroom observation, questionnaire investigation, individual interview and literature review. The results show that the bilingual teachers of this area know little about the connotation of teacher-student interaction, the main types of teacher-student interaction are teacher-class interaction and teacher-individual student interaction, the bilingual class is dominated by verbal interaction, nonverbal interaction is not concerned by the teachers. The questions during the verbal interaction are mostly judged ones, the language that teachers choose to use in the interaction is Chinese. According to the relevant standards, the quality of teacher-student interaction in bilingual classroom of minority primary school of South Area of Xinjiang is low.The thesis can be divided into five chapters. The first chapter is about the background, significance, idea and methods of study; The second chapter is about the view of library collection as well as classroom interaction theory basis; The third chapter is about class observation and analysis, the result shows that the bilingual teachers realize the importance of the teacher-students interaction, however, there are still many problems deeply rooted in their teaching thoughts and the process of concrete teaching operation; the fourth chapter discusses the existing problems and the reasons behind them; the fifth chapter discusses strategies from some perspectives to improve teacher-student interaction.
