Aerobics as a common P.E(physical education) curriculum have been opened incolleges for years. With its fitness, entertainment and appreciation, it is well-receivedamong college students. However, the teaching mode of Aerobics is still traditionalwhich is not coordinate with its various contents, therefore such teaching mode hasinfluenced the teaching quality in certain degree.With the underway curriculum innovation,people get deeper understanding ofsports teaching and therefore gradually realized the one-sidedness of traditionalsports teaching. In term of traditional sports teaching, teacher is the leading rolewhile students is in subordinate place in whole class; in addition, it puts muchemphasize on the instruction of basic sports skills. Such teaching mode will on onehand restrain the students’ initiatives of learning sports; on the other hand, it can’ttake the significant task of cultivating students all-round and improving theirscientific literacy.The present study investigate the present teaching situation as well as thesituation of students’ PE curriculum in colleges so as to understand the sportsteaching mode in colleges. Adopting the literature material method, interviewmethod, experimental method and mathematical statistics method, the present studytakes70students who choose aerobics as their elective course in Xinjiang NormalUniversity as subjects to conduct the experimental research. The data from theresearch has been further analyzed so as to examine the influence of open teachingmode on the effects of students’ grasping aerobics motor skill, the creative ability ofchoreography, the attitudes towards learning aerobics and the cultivation ofcooperation sense and confidence. All of these may provide some useful referencesfor the aerobics teaching in colleges.The results show that:1.The open teaching mode in aerobics will enhance students’aerobics skill.2. The open teaching mode in aerobics will assist to cultivate students’ creativeability of choreography.3. The open teaching mode will arouse students’s interest in sports and thereforechange their attitudes towards sports learning.4.The open teaching mode in aerobics will promote students’ sense ofcooperation.5. The open teaching mode in aerobics will strengthen students’ confidence in sports learning.
