Accompanying with the expanding of China’s higher education scale,theemployment of university graduates has drawn people’s much attention. Facing thesevere employment situation,many scholars have concerned the problem in recentyears that how to cultivate and improve the students’ employability in order to guidegraduates smooth employment. Based on this,the paper takes four local universitiessituated in Lanzhou as the research objects for the study of graduates employability.Firstly,through the review of related literatures at home and abroad on theemployability,the paper defined the concept of college students’ employability.During the prophase we collect every indexes of employability as possible as we canby open-ended questionnaires. And then experts were invited to put forward opinionsand suggestions according to the questionnaire,in order to accomplish the preliminaryconjecture of employability structure;for the initial test,the initial questionnaire ofemployability were designed;and completing the error recovery by using the itemanalysis and exploratory factor analysis;through the confirmatory factor analysis,theevaluation of the structure model was completed,at last the formal questionnaire wasestablished by applying many reliability and validity tests to investigate the reliabilityand validity of its scale.Secondly,using the formal questionnaire that have prepared already to test theemployability of graduates from four universities in Lanzhou,the purpose is toanalyze the overall situation of the employability of university students and theinfluence of each variable for college students’ employability. We found that theemployability of graduates is normal and variables such as gender,one-child andaddress of family have no influence on the employability,but political affiliation,cadre experiences and social practice experiences have a significant effect on theemployability of university graduates.Finally,according to the results of the survey,countermeasures and suggestionswere put forward to enhance the employability of graduates,the main suggestions areas follows:universities should put the employability training into the curriculumsystem,and strengthen the class construction,and further improve the service content of employment guidance; besides, students should pay more attention to thedevelopment of basic abilities during the period of school,actively participate insocial practice,and pay great attention to cultivate their professional consciousnessfrom the beginning.
