The Research Of The Members’ Social Presence In The Virtual Learning Community

The development of the network promotes the development of the virtuallearning community, most of the high schools have their own virtual learningcommunity,They all try to put up learning in virtual learning communities. In virtuallearning community, the members are not face-to-face, so the members’ socialpresence become very important in the development of the virtual learningcommunity. This paper is based on the interaction and divide the interaction intothree parts, the first one is the interaction between members and virtual learningcommunity, the second one is the interaction between members and teachers,thethird one is the interaction between members and members. We design25factorsbased on the three interaction. Through the statistical analysis, we can get the impactbetween the25factors and the members’ social presence. Then we can propose thestrategies to improve the members’ social presence.Chapter1is the introduction Part which mainly introduces the background andthe research status and the problems related it. these description can establish thevalue of this research. This chapter also description the purpose, significance andmethod of the paper.Chapter2is the description of the virtual learning community and socialpresence, including the basic concepts. The reader can know more about virtuallearning community and social presence through chapter2.Chapter3is the basic theory, including constructivism theory, theory ofSituational learning and situated cognition, theory of learning community.Chapter4is the statistical analysis about the impact factors of the members’social presence. then we draw the impact between the25factors and the members’social presence, and findthe main factors.Chapter5is the strategies to improve the members’ social presence. thestrategies are based on the three parts of the interaction.Chapter6is concluded by summarizing the conclusion of this research and thehope of the future research. this research has some room to be improved.
