The Empirical Research Of University Student Volunteers’ Moral Personality Characteristic

Moral Personality, which is the ethical provision of self-personality, is that Moral Subject consciously accept and internalize the moral criterion, forming the relatively stable of Moral Cognition, Moral Affection, Moral Will, Moral Faith, Moral Behavior during the process of socialization, and is also as the sum of Dignity, Value, Quality as a human being. At present, the whole university students in our country has an active and healthy development situation in moral personality, but still exist some conditions as separate knowing from action, negative moral emotion, independent moral will, unstable moral behavior and so on, these problems mean that we need pay attention to the cultivation of college students’ moral personality.University Student Volunteer as a group which is organized to provide unpaid and freewill voluntary service in their spare time, their action deeply in the field of the infrastructure, community service, earthquake rescue, agriculture and remote support, large-scale sport events, international aid, etc. That is effectively supply the defects made by government behavior and market economy, being as an important driving force for21st social harmony and national modernization construction. On the one hand, they act a "moral example" among the peer group to some extent, on the other hand, there are also existing moral personality development problems. Student volunteers have what distinctive characteristics and which kind of problems, discuss the reason of these problems, their moral personality can through what way or ways to intervene, and present what trend of their development, becoming the focus of this study.The study theme of this paper is university student volunteers’ moral personality, and the object of research is Huazhong University of Science&Technology’s student volunteers, combine the qualitative research and questionnaire survey method, based on comparing the differences from general university students, in order to analyze trait of general and specific characteristics. Then try to find what and how macroscopic and microscopic factors impact these characteristics. Finally this paper points out some suggestions for how to optimize university volunteers’moral personality characteristics.Through the investigation and discussion, this study mainly draws following conclusions:1. The general moral personality characteristic of university student volunteers: First, their with-good-intention-towards-others trait development level is high, obviously have altruism and social responsibility consciousness; Second, their upright selfless trait development level is higher than those not volunteers, showing that more stronger subjectivity and independence; Third, their whole moral personality development level is higher, but the self regulation mechanism which used to stir specific moral behavior is not perfect, their moral personality is still under developing.2. The specific features characteristic of university student volunteers:Gender, Grade, Origin and Whether they are the only child, these four variables have no direct correlation to moral personality, and also no significant effect on the moral personality trait level, but not for any aspect, the most remarkable is gender and whether they are the only child’s influence of various factors.3. The main factors of university student volunteers’moral personality formation: macro environment like culture tradition, moral example and market economy system, microscopic environment have family background, interpersonal relationship, school education and moral learning in the process of socialization.4. The optimization of university student volunteers’moral personality can adopt these ways:inspire their moral learning needs and motivation, strengthen moral reasoning ability training, construct moral example multiple influence model, and complete voluntary service practice to promote.
