Research On Students’ Affairs Administration In Complete Credit System

University students’ affairs administration is an important component of universitytalent cultivation and offers significant support for increasing the quality of talentcultivation. In recent years, with the further deepening of higher education, especially therevolution of teaching management mode of complete credit system in our country,traditional concept, ideas, content, operating methods and other aspects of universitystudents’ affairs administration is confronted with new challenge. It is the topic of thetimes that university workers must think over: how to let university students’ affairsadministration develops and advances with the times and how to truly meet the students’diverse needs so as to promote their growth? This question requires us to free our minds,update our perception, borrow advanced management philosophy and experience, improvethe quality of students’ affairs management in all aspects and promote the revolution andinnovation of university students’ management in our country. New public managementmovement is a revolution of traditional government’s public administration system bywestern countries after1970s and then gradually improves and develops into relativelymature “New Public Management Theory”, which emphasizes on the introduction ofmanagement theory and experience of success in private sector into public administrationand the promotion of performance management in public sector. It attaches importance tothe consciousness of “Customer First” to common services objects and the appliance ofmarket-oriented incentive mechanism and company-oriented management methods, whilealso stresses the function of informal organization. Adopting the perspective of NewPublic Management Theory is a brand new trial and exploration in the research ofuniversity students’ affairs administration in complete credit system in our country, whichhas positive significance of guide and reference in the promotion of our country’suniversity students’ affairs administration.The present article starts from the history of university students’ affairsadministration and the elaboration of some basic concepts, and then it carries on a researchon the activities of students’ affairs administration in the process of realizing complete credit system in Huaihai Institute of Technology and introduces the major method andachievements. It also concludes the problems in current work of university students’affairs administration and the challenges. At last, it puts forward suggestions for theenhancement of university students’ affairs administration in complete credit system andadvocates that the ideas of people-oriented, service, motivation and management byobjectives method in New Public Management Theory should be borrowed to pushforward the integrated development of university students’ affairs administration incomplete credit system.
