Employment is vital to people’s livelihood, especially for employment ofuniversity students. It is an important issue which related to the families and socialstability. The party’s18clearly stated:“to strive to achieve employment more fully,and promote higher quality employment, and focus the work on youth employment ofcollege graduates." Employment of college students is not only an economic problem,but also a social problem. For college students, it is important to master the certainskills for the precondition of survival. Once they encounter the job obstacles andcould not be successfully employed, the view of society is far less than the youthwithout culture more complex and sophisticated. Therefore, to study the effect ofsocial capital on college student’s employment has more practical significance. In thispaper, through the study of social capital’s influence on college student’s employmentto achieve two purposes: First，To define the college student’s social capital； Secondbased on the experience statistics of six universities in Zhengzhou, on thedemonstration analysis on the influence of social capital affect university students’employment. Based on the research conclusion, we should solve the problem of"how to use social capital to help university student’s employment".In recent years, the number of college students along with the supply of highereducation enrollment, while increasing the number of university students supply is farexceeds the actual needs of social and economic development, resulting in pressureon college students is growing. At the same time, the transition period for China’slabor market imperfections makes a lot of labor supply and demand is still in the stageof non-institutionalized. The scale expansion of colleges and universities and theparticularity of China’s labor market during the period of transition to the socialcapital on the employment of university graduates play a role in the course ofproviding greater room for maneuver.This article will introduce social capital factors on the university graduates employment research. In the existing job search model, we will join social capitaldifferences and differences in the use of social capital to draw some conclusions. Thejob search model and theoretical model of social capital helps draw conclusionsemployment of university students. Based on the theoretical model conclusions, weuse the related research hypotheses and the statistical experience data of sixuniversities in Zhengzhou City to analysis the effects of different types of socialcapital on university students’ employment. By analyzing the results，we get thefollowing conclusions: First, the social capital have a positive effects on the collegestudents’ job-searching, the college students who have the higher the initial positionof the family socio-economic status have more advantage in using the social capital;Second, if the capital increase, the students employment opportunities for collegestudents also increased; Third, family socioeconomic status factors in the college jobsearch process is likely to exceed the individual social capital factors and familysocial capital factors, college students play a decisive role in the success of a job；Fourth, different impact of society capital plays a different role on employmentprobability of college students, but the quality of social capital compared to thenumber of social capital, the quality of social capital has more conducive to students’employment.Based on the above research conclusions, the paper finally put forward some suggestions on college student’s effective gain and the accumulation of social capital, which help to promote the employment of university students. Thosesuggestions includes strengthen the cultivation and accumulation of social capital, improve the identification、 mobilization and coordination skills of social capital，play the family and school’s subject initiative to help college students accumulate social capital.
