As the core concept of economic sociology, social capital is increasingly mentioned by people in modern society. In many research before, the employment issue is mostly discussed based on the theory of human capital and so on. This thesis utilizes the theory of social capital to carry on the analysis and the elaboration for the issue of university student employment which is the hot topic of present society.In this thesis, social capital is defined as the the resources obtained from university graduates own social network, and human capital is defined as university graduates' knowledge, skill, longevity, the experience and the quality. The effect to the university graduates employment caused by social capital has been analyzed in this thesis integrated with the method of demonstration material. At the same time, some suggestions also provided according to the issue of employment and occupation orientation of university graduates based on the systemic argumentation deeply analysis.In this thesis, the issue of the university graduates employment has been systemicly analyzed by integrating the method of data collection, the demonstration research and the literature research based on the advanced related theories and research method derived from both domestic and abroad. Literature research includes theoretical analysis,content analysis,extant statistical data analysis.The demonstration research includes questionnaire survey and interview on the spot, carries on the research on partial universities' graduates in Chongqing area on certain scale, proving two fundamental research supposition in the thesis.we may draw the conclusion according to the statistical result obtained by demonstration research: along with the expanding of college recruiting, the increasing pressure for the employment of university graduates and the increasing employment competition, the social capital plays a very important role to the university graduates, the smooth employment realization is not only decided by whether the graduate individual has enough human capital, but even more decided by whether the graduate has rich social capital in a very great degree simultaneously; The statistical result also fully demonstrated that the strong social relations will works more obviously for university graduates to get a decent job under the Chinese society background. Presently, speed up accumulation of graduates' social capital is not only advantageous to the graduate to get a decent job, but also advantageous to society's stability and development.This thesis consists of five parts, the first part is origin of the study, which raised concerns of the study and described the background to the study;The second part is the summary of previous research information. This part reviewed and summarized the relevant research which has been made in the theoretical and empirical results, gave shortcomings of previous research;The third part of the research indicates the objective, significance, thoughts and methods of this study;The fourth part is the focus of the thesis, which analyses of social capital on the impact of the employment of college graduates,using the survey method and field interviews;The fifth part make a functional analysis on social capital based on the survey results and put forward a number of effective access to and accumulation of social capital measure,Finally,gave some experience of writing this article, including innovative and inadequate and Follow-up research endeavors.
