Study On The Social Adaptation Of The City Retired Women By Group Work

Under the background of the population aging, and the increasing proportion of urbanelderly women, the urban elderly women have become a group that can not be ignored.Retied women living in the city have changed their living habit from the organized lives to thedisorderly household ones during the continuing process of socialization and,definitely,theywill face some inadaptation problems in some aspects, such as physiology, psychology,socialparticipation and so on. They should start a new life since there are many years left after theyretired. With the help of Socialization Theory, Society Reconstruction Theory and SystemTheory,the author analyzes social adaption problems of the retired women in city by studyingrelevant researches at home and abroad. Based on the interview and contract with these retiredurban women, we have learnt about the present situation of their social adaption and foundout the difficulties that they are facing and their urgent needs.A group which aims at the retired women’s social adaption in city is founded and recruitssome members on the basis of a sufficient preparation that has been done in work. First, weevaluate their needs,set a goal for the team work and make a plan of group activities.Then,we work on the social work of group using the professional methods,adhere to theprinciple of group social work to help them to promote their understanding of role cognitionand strengthen their abilities of social adaption so that they could have a happy and valuablelife later.
