As people’s living standard is improving and their manual labor is reducing, over the past20years, China’s youth physique and physical health tend to be deteriorating. College students, as socialist successors and main forces, have been arousing both their own and their communities’extensive attention to their physique and physical health. Hence, the slogan "strengthening physical exercises and enhancing the people’s physique" has resounded. Social physique anxiety (abbreviated as SPA) with a particular subtype featured as the formation of social anxiety of particular physique, is considered as one of the most important antecedents and consequences for physical exercises. As one of antecedences, it affects exercises motivation, situational selections, emotional responses and physical behaviors; while as a consequence, its social physique anxiety is affected by physical exercises. Over more than twenty years, foreign sports and psychological researchers has gained productive achievements in this field of study on SPA. In China, the year2003witnesses "the Social Physique Anxiety Scale"(SPAS) of Chinese people compiled by XuXia as the first and foremost research in this field, but the related follow-up study appears to be less. Especially, as to the two significant indicators to physical exercises--exercise intensity and exercise duration, there are no relevant researches to show whether the two indicators can influence the changes of subjects’social physique anxiety. This research attempts to, with "the social physique anxiety scale (SPAS)" compiled by XuXia as the main research tool and SPSS18.0adopted as the statistical tool, investigate the influence of aerobics exercises with different intensities and durations on college students’social physique anxiety. The results show that:(1) the aerobics exercises can effectively reduce the college students’social physique anxiety. In greater detail, the aerobics exercises can generate more reduction in the social physique anxiety of male students than that of female students’; but some differences still exist in different dimensions of the research, say, it is most obvious to witness its reduction in the concerns about negative evaluation on others (NE), while it is less apparent to see the reduction in the social concerns (SC) about evaluation on others.(2) The aerobics exercises with a long duration of medium intensity (12weeks) can produce most apparent reduction in the college students’social physique anxiety, and accordingly its reduction in social physique anxiety of male college students is better than that of the female ones.(3) The aerobics exercises with shorter duration of medium intensity (6weeks) can also significantly reduce college students’social physique anxiety, which, however, is not as effective as the reduction produced by the aerobics exercises with the long duration of medium intensity (12weeks).(4) The aerobics exercises with the long duration of low intensity (12weeks) can also more apparently reduce the male college students’social physique anxiety than the female ones’.(5) The aerobics exercises with short duration of low intensity (6weeks) can not reduce the college students’social physique anxiety, but can only cause one or two dimensions of fluctuation on their social physique anxiety.
