| With the development of mental health education in primary school, many educatorshave realized the importance of "family-school cooperation". Many documents issued by theMinistry of education have also been actively advocating this pattern. Therefore, themode----"Family-school cooperation in mental health education" has spread quickly in manyparts of China. In order to acknowledge the manifestation of this mode, the author uses themethod of public opinion poll and interview to carry out the survey of “family-schoolcooperation in mental education†in primary schools in Baoding. It is revealed from thesurvey that those schools have made some achievements through this mode. Yet it is still at anearly stage.Based on this survey, the author put forward methods for improvement from four aspects:First, at the country level, we should set up certain law or policy to ensure that parents canparticipate in mental health education in school. Second, at the society level, the educationauthorities should advocate the importance of family–school cooperation. They should urgeschool authorities to set up family-school cooperation organization in order to better carry outthe task. They should also monitor the development of mental health education of theirsubordinate school. Third, at the school level, the schools should improve the source offamily-school communication and carry out authentic, planned activities. They should caterto the need of the students’ parents, and enrich the content and source of mental healtheducation. And to improve the skill of those teachers who are in this profession and use moremoney to buy necessary facilities. Fourth, at the family level, the school authorities shouldurge parents to participate in mental health training to improve their own mental health leveland their standard to educate their children. Parents should take an active part in mentalhealth activities organized by school. Parents should try their best to communicate withschools and also provide help and support for them. |
