Elementary education curriculum of a new turn is developing around the country. Geography, as an indispensable part of basic education, is also joining in the tide of reform. The new geographic curriculum reform actively advocates a new kind of learning method of Independence,Cooperation and Exploration,what takes a significant challenge to the coventional teaching mode.All along, geographic science attaches great importance to practice, and considers that the geographical experiment is a kind of basic method and means of researching geographical subjects,so the geography experimental teaching is an important part in the geography teaching,and the effective realization of the three-dimensional teaching target largely depends on the geography experimental teaching. The geography experimental teaching can improve the student’s observation ability, operating ability, practice ability and innovation ability,ect..Therefore, we need to update the concept, vigorously promote the reform of geography experimental teaching.This paper is aimed at the current situation of the senior geography experimental teaching of Jinhua city,investigating four representative high schools of Jinhua by using the methods of questionnaire survey.We found that there are some problems in the geography experimental teaching of high school:Low experiment out rate;Experimental teaching method is old, single; The experimental teaching concept of the teachers is weak,no fundamental change take place in the teaching behavior, The experiment teaching evaluation system is not perfect,etc.Finally, in view of the existing problems, combining with the actual situation,the paper puts forward some feasible suggestions and strategies: Changing the concept of geography experimental teaching, The resource of geography experimental teaching is the basic guarantee of geography experimental teaching, Strengthening the construction of teaching staff;Establishing diversified evaluation system, perfecting the evaluation content,and we hope to provide some reference for the reform of geography experiment teaching.The paper totally is divided into five parts:Part1:It mainly clarifies the background of this research and analysises the value of geography experimental teaching.Part2:It mainly defines the relevant concept and expounds the actuality at home and abroad of this research and the basis of geography experimental teaching.Part3:It carries on survey to current situation of geography experimental teaching in high schools of Jinhua City, points out the existing problems and analysises the causes of the problems. Part4:It puts forward four strategies for improving the geography experimental teaching.Part5:It Carries on the summary.
