| Mr.Yuan Zhe was an educator on Chinese language teaching in1930s.The Fundamental Theory Of Chinese Reading Instruction was not only the summary of his education practices, but also the combination of western advanced educational thought and the social reality at that time.This treatise was distinctive in the30’s research achievements which selected "reading" as an independent realm to research, and incisively expatiated the purpose of reading teaching, the material of reading teaching and so on.This thesis is divided into three parts:Introduction, main text and conclusion, main text includes six chapters. The primary contents of each part are as followings:Introduction:The educational thought of Yuan Zhe’ is quite abundant, but his achievement was rarely known by people. The thesis adopts the methods of literature research and historical research to analyze Yuan Zhe’s Chinese educational thought comprehensively and systematically.Chapter one:Introduce Yuan Zhe’s experience and his contribution to the education, then relating the present condition of the society to expatiate the writing background, and explain some related conceptions of the thesis.Chapter two:Yuan Zhe analyzed the reading teaching theory of western and people’s outlook on it at that time. He pointed that the purpose of reading teaching should be distinctive. The purpose of reading teaching which was re-designed by Yuan Zhe defined the nature of Chinese subject which aligned with present-day ideas that should laid emphasis on instrumentality and humanity, and also he paid attention to listen and speaking teaching on the basis of the present social reality, which is not only a breakthrough of traditional education, but also the requirement of new Chinese Curriculum Standard.Chapter three:Yuan Zhe applied the western psychology to the Chinese education, which promoted the scientific development of reading teaching. In teaching philosophy, Yuan Zhe selected the sentences as the starting point of reading teaching, etc. In teaching method, he made scientific suggestions on how to improve children’s reading speed and also advocated to train children’s silence reading skills. Chapter four:Yuan Zhe made a new exploration on Chinese material written and generated his own theory on the basis of researching the material written theory of western and Chinese’. He made the research on the essence of material from language, characters and articles which embodies the feature of meeting children and social requirement.Chapter five:On the basis of combing foreign educational theory and himself educational experience, Yuan Zhe concluded a set of scientific teaching methods which was ’overview of the article firstly and then analysis partly’.In the process of teaching, he always implements the thought of children-centered, makes use of many kinds of methods flexibly, and realizes the unity of presupposition and generation, which has reference value to mechanical Chinese teaching.Chapter six:The research achievements of Yuan Zhe obtained in Chinese education is based on abundant research materials, the criticizing research spirit and scientific research methods.The Chinese education thought of The Fundamental Theory Of Chinese Reading Instruction has a great significance on Chinese education problems which are resulted in curriculum reforming.Conclusion:Though the Chinese education thought of Yuan Zhe’s has historical value and practical meanings, it has some deficiencies, such as too much emphasis on children-centered, neglected to renew teachers education idea. Meanwhile, there are many aspects that need us to make further research. |
