In recent years, people’s living level of material has been rising by the rapid economic development in China. At the same time, the college elective courses of sports were diversified by the growth of economic factors. But due to various reasons, the physique level of college students has not been significantly improved with the diversification of elective courses. Through compared the changes of physical indicators of college students before and after tennis elective course, the paper drew the effects of tennis college to students physical intervention, then put forward the corresponding countermeasures and the theoretical basis to improve students physique by the tennis elective course for the future.116freshman and sophomore students in tennis selective class, included59boys and57girls were selected as the research object from the Guangling College, Yangzhou University. Students conducted a16-week tennis elective couse, and it included routine class once a week and voluntary class twice on every weekend. The real data of physical health indicators were measured and compared by the same instrument before and after the elective couse. The indicators included the height, weight, body mass index, vital capacity, grip strength, back strength, leg strength, standing long jump, reaction time, Sit and Reach,50-meter run, the girls’800meters run and the boys’1000meter run.The results show that:The effect of tennis elective course on the improvement of the body shape of university student was not obvious.In body functions, tennis elective course was conducive to the improvement of college students’body functions, especially the respiratory potentiality of college girls. In physical fitness,Tennis elective course was conducive to the promotion of the development of the largest power in the power quality, but it was not obvious to promoted the development of the lower limb explosive power of college students. At the same time, the tennis selective course could not obviously improve the displacement speed of college students in the speed quality, but could improve reaction speed. On the other hand, the flexibility of college students was not enhanced, but the aerobic endurance of them was significantly developed by the tennis elective course.The results of this study can not only provide a theoretical basis to widely carried out tennis elective course in colleges and universities, but also better improve the tennis elective course in university, and feasible suggestions were put forward for the improvement of the physique of college students.
