Drama is an ancient art form, which plays an important role in the progress of human civilization. With the birth of the sixteenth Century world famous playwright Shakespeare, drama goes into the brilliant period. Since the beginning of seventeenth Century, Shakespeare drama goes into Germany, France, Italy, Russia and all of the countries of northern Europe, then the United States and all of the world, which has great and far-reaching influence on the world drama development. Due to the great role of drama works in edifying temper, enlightening wisdom, interpreting all kinds of social relations, and reflecting the theme of a variety of life,every country in the world has attached attention to drama teaching. In the Shakespeare country of Britain, the drama text teaching run through students each growth period. In teaching outline of "all ages and all stages of learning Shakespeare" illustrates clearly the specific contents and statutory requirements of learning of Shakespeare’s Drama, during the12period of the primary and middle school students aged1-16.Drama also had a glorious time in China, the Yuan Dynasty opera’s development and prosperity had become a sign of the times. During the period of the Republic of China, Zhang Boling,Tao Xingzhi, Lu Zuofu, Yan Yangchu advocated the humanistic spirit of drama, Paid attention to the effects of improving the students’ personality, shaping the students’ mental outlook. But in the contemporary,due to the influence of exam-oriented education and other factors, the drama text teaching is gradually ignored.Drama is a comprehensive art. Since its birth, drama has attracted much focus in theater,meanwhile, as a source for performing art,drama literature also plays an important role. Drama acted as an integrated art on its early years,which led to an combined role of both composer of script and director on stage,a typical example was Moliere,who was recognized as a master in drama art. However, as division of labor goes,drama art also see its differentiation,which is manifested by the fact that performing art and directing art attracted more focus in art field,in contrast of that script composing is more favored in literature field. What the author wants to emphasize is, that performing art and drama literature can not be separated from each other, for the integrated characteristics of drama art.Selected into textbook and been taken into classroom of high school,on one hand,drama must be seen as language and literature teaching materials for high school students as well as novels, essays,and poetry,on the other hand,they also have their own features and teaching requirements. As for drama literature teaching,both language arts features and Stage performances features must be taken into account. For drama literature teaching, its integrated characteristic can not be ignored.Restricted by the perspective of theatre art, this paper, on a integrated point of view, discussing drama literature teaching of high school. As for me, focusing on both literature and performing characteristic of drama, emphasizes its educational and humanity function just as other form of literature, and considerate its role as a performing art as well.With this train of thought and construction of chapters, this paper begins from the history of drama text education, recalling its development since1978, on multiple aspects including target, article, content and method. An investigation is also done on drama text education in high school classroom, optimal strategy for drama education in high school is proposed on basis of theoretical exploring, updating drama teaching understanding and practical exploring.
