From the beginning of this century, the parents who have the only child are going to be old. As the only child regarding as the only hope for the parents, once they are not good their parents would bear much pain. So the family who loses their only child and not birth and adopt is called the loss of family. The writer collets much literature about the loss of family in the paper, and the writer catches the sight of that the researcher who think about the question is rare. In the beginning the researchers think about the questions from the social problems which may be caused by the only child’s physical disability. Later, some researchers think the questions from economy, taking care the ole men and social security.The writer researches the mutual behavior modes of the loss of family, and arranges the paper about this mode and collets some cases. First, the writer uses empirical research methods to discuss the basic facets of the mutual behavior mode. Second, on the basis of the cases of the family, the writer uses the method of content analysis to discuss the situations in the cases. Last, the writer uses the method of case analysis to explain the type of the mutual behavior mode from emotion, system, need and value.Then the writer wants to try discussing the case work mode, the group mode and the community work mode of social workers getting involved, and explains objects, purposes, procedures and effect evaluation in the three modes. This is the innovation point.However, the mutual behavior modes of the loss of family still have some problems. The writer wants to raise some suggestions and hopes these can be useful for the social workers. In the same time, the writer also wants the family can get much help from the social and integrate into the social.
