Objectives:1. Understand the status of subjective well-being (SWB) of medical students inShenyang, and analyze Different factors effect on SWB.2. Explore the relationship Among coping style, life events and medical students’SWB, and try to putting forward reasonable suggestions to improve medicalstudents’ SWB.3. Seek measures for developing medical students’ SWB, and try to providereasonable suggestions for the education management departments.Methods:The research were administrated three medical colleges in Shenyang (ChinaMedical University, Liaoning Traditional Chinese Medicine University and ShenyangMedical College). Stratified random sampling method was employed, and720questionnaires were Used. Besides, statistical analyses were performed by SPSS16.0software.Results:1. Medical students scored84.19(AVG.) on the general well-being scale with astandard deviation of7.32.The average score of medical college students on thegeneral subjective well-being is84.19±7.32.2. SWB score of the students in Grade1and Grade5is inferior to theundergraduates in the other grades with a remarkable difference (P<0.05).3. Use t-test on SWB score of all the students, girls scored higher than boys in thegeneral well-being, which presented statistic significance. But the differences inmelancholy and happiness were appeared between boys and girls in mooddifference(P<0.01).4. SWB, relaxation and tension between poverty-stricken students and non were significantly different. Nevertheless, the differences were not appeared in otherdimensions (P>0.05).5. The general SWB differences were considerable among the students of differentmajors (P<0.01).6. Relating to medical students’ SWB, coping style and life events, Pearsoncorrelation analysis suggested that there is significant relationship among SWB,coping style, and life events(P<0.05).Conclusions:1. The general SWB score of medical students in Shenyang is higher than that of thenational average.2. There is significant difference of SWB in grades and majors.3. There is significant difference of SWB between genders.4. There are remarkable differences between poverty-stricken students andnon–poverty stricken students in SWB, relaxation and tension.5. Medical students’ SWB is related to coping style and life events.
