According to the requirements of the governmental documents about normalizing school students’ conductions and reducing their study burdens by the education department of Liaoning Province, every school has to cut down the time periods of each subject just because students are spending less time at school. Therefore, teachers of all subjects are facing a new problem---how to make the students learn most efficiently and how to get the best teaching effect within the limited class time.Generally speaking, knowledge of biology in senior high school covers varieties of information with the features of microcosmic and abstractive. Traditional biology teaching methods are not available now. So we have to change. We’d better change the microcosmic, abstractive and ambiguous words in the text book into intuitional, and vivid pictures through CAI so that the students can be interested and begin to love life and nature. Multimedia teaching can develop the students’ ability of finding,analyzing and solving problems and also can make them equipped with a way to make further study.My paper summarizes about the different operating environments of multimedia teaching and takes for example the6th chapter of Book I (Biology teaching materials for senior high) by the People’s Education Publishing House. My research takes the methodology of document, observation and experiment. After comparison and tests, the results show that all the students in the interactive multimedia teaching environment have made great progress in their study. They not only get trained in their thinking ability,operating ability but also in their communicating ability, especially the boy students,who are getting more and more active in class. Thus, we can conclude that interactive multimedia Biology teaching is a new way to assist our teaching because it fully develops their thinking ability, greatly encourages their creativity and rapidly raises their scientific quality.
