This thesis is devoted to studying the application of multimedia technology assisted English writing teaching in middle school. As we know, English is the most important but difficult communication skill to train and gain, so our English teachers are looking for a more suitable teaching method, through constant adjustment and improvement during the exploration of the teaching mode with multimedia computer.With the Web Assisted Language Learning (WALL) appearing, Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), a new trend in foreign language teaching, is being accepted and applied by much more high middle school English teachers. Multimedia assisted teaching just use multimedia computer to deal with and control multimedia information on text, symbols, graphics, animation, audio and video. According to different teaching requirements, it can combine the multimedia information to form a rational teaching structure and render them on the screen. This series of interactive operation can make the students study in optimal learning environments and improve their writing ability.With the analysis of students’status under the traditional conventional classroom teaching writing mode and tasks/activities teaching writing mode, I try to introduce the multimedia computer into high middle school English writing as an auxiliary teaching method. The application results are examined by using the methods of teaching experiments, questionnaires, examinations, and etc.We can learn the application of the multimedia assisted senior English writing teaching as follows:(1) According to the data from questionnaire, we know that most students support the application of multimedia assisted English writing.(2) Based on the analysis of tests and interview, we can conclude that multimedia really improve students’writing ability.(3) All the development during the teaching process proves that multimedia assisted teaching can create better studying atmosphere among students and also stimulates the enthusiasm of the students.(4) Certainly, all the studies in this essay also show that there are still some limitations of the multimedia computer application in high school English writing at present, such as technical, financial, time and plagiaristic problem.After all, my study of multimedia assisted English writing teaching is still premature, and uncompleted. We teachers should use the multimedia computer flexibly and effectively. It only points toward a possibly fruitful direction for other practitioners to explore.
