Various provinces and cities are constantly improving their sports teamproject settings, expanding the scale of the formation of sports teams, and increasingeconomic investment in competitive sports in order to increase the region ’s gold medal pointin the Olympic Games and National Games.In this situation, the problem that theresettlement of retired athletes is getting particularly important. Owing to injuries,age,team-adjusting and other factors, many athletes after years of training and game are facingretirement, which is a great choice for these athletes. The research is contributed to analyzethe situation of Hebei retired professional athletes in recent years. Specific research includesthe status of work of retired athletes：the major difficulties and problems they are facing afterretirement; as well as the current status of satisfaction and other aspects.Through the analysis of the results of the survey, we can see, in recent years, Hebeiprofessional athletes after retirement, the vast majority of them are self-employed，manyretired athletes are expressing their dissatisfaction with the current status. There are threemain reasons for this problem job insecurity, low benefits and the existing work is notgood.The institutions with stable work and better welfare or universities that can acquire newknowledge and skills is their first choice, after athletes retirement，injuries caused by longtraining, weak cultural foundation and not ideal the working environment are three maindifficulties they are facing. In such circumstances, the retired athletes are expected to haveaccess to relevant health care services and employment training and guidance, as well as thelearning opportunities to higher institutions.According to the objective analysis of the findings and the results that some experts andretired athletes visit and discussion, we can conclude the following countermeasures. First ofall, relevant authorities should safeguard their vital interests and solve their worries.Toprovide employment opportunities and access to higher learning as much as possible forathletes, at the same time carry out active and effective re-employment training to help guide the retired athletes.Secondly, athletes should be well in training and competition tasks,,mostimportantly,they should seriously learn cultural knowledge, improve their level of knowledge,timely cover the learning of other areas to lay the foundation of their retirementlife.Meanwhile athletes should emancipate the mind and self-reliant,broaden theiremployment ideas. Last, the whole society should also pay more attention to retired athletesresettlement, other relevant departments should support the retired athletes to choose theirown jobs in fund and policy and public opinion should play a social role to safeguard thelegitimate rights and interests of retired athletes.
