In recent years,private education in China has developed rapidly,especially private higher education,which has made a certain contribution to realize the popularization of higher education in China and cultivating a large number of talents.It is becoming an indispensable part of China's higher education.With the development of private higher education,private colleges teaching staff construction gradually become a hot research topic,the teaching staff construction level decides the developmental level of the private colleges.As the main component of the faculty of private colleges,young teachers undertake the important task of cultivating talents,and the professional development of young teachers in private colleges is closely related to the quality of teaching in private colleges,and directly affects the sustainable development of private colleges.Since it was put forward in the 1990 s,teachers peer coaching has become an effective way of teacher professional development generally recognized by the academic circle.Through a series of dialogues,interactions and cooperation,teachers peer coaching improves teacher's professional development.However,at present,researches on teachers peer coaching mainly focus on primary and secondary school teachers,but less on college teachers,especially on young teachers in private colleges.Therefore,this paper take adult learning theory?social constructivism theory?social interdependence theory and communicative behavior theory as the theoretical basis,combined with questionnaire and interview data,comprehensively applies documentary?questionnaire?and interview methods,and take 152 young teachers in private colleges in Shanghai as the questionnaire respondents,10 young teachers as interviewees to investigate the current situation of peer coaching among young teachers in private colleges.This study found that there are some problems in peer coaching of young teachers in private colleges,such as lack of time?single form of peer coaching?weak skills of peer coaching?low consciousness of peer coaching?lack of incentive measures?neglect the psychological support of peer coaching and so on.In terms of these problems,this study puts forward corresponding suggestions from teachers' individual perspective and school perspective.In the aspect of teachers' individual perspective,it is necessary to improve teachers' peer coaching awareness,strengthen teachers' peer coaching skills,develop teachers' peer coaching plans,understand teachers' peer coaching impact and form positive interdependence and soon.In the aspect of private college,private colleges should attach importance to the professional development of young teachers,provide the guarantee of atmosphere,system and time for teachers to carry out peer coaching,and innovate variety of form of teachers peer coaching and so on.
