With social development and progression, management work isincreasingly characterized more scientific, democratic and humanized. The current trendfor high school management innovation focuses on teachers’effective participation inorder to upgrade the scientificalness of school management. Common teachers involvedin management can be more activated, thus improving management quality of theschool, which is beneficial for better scientificalness, creativity and democracyprogression. A thorough understanding of current teachers’ performance inmanagement and a research into the influence by their involvement makes sense.This research analyzes necessity for common high school teachers to participate inschool management in terms of the democracy progression, humanistic tendency andimprovement for the principal responsibility system.By means of questionnaire and interview, this research reveals current insufficientparticipation of common teachers in school management. Despite teachers’ willingnessand enthusiasm, the patterns they adopt remain similar and limited and theirinvolvement tend to be superficial, resulting in insufficient positive influence.Based on analysis of how current policies, the school and the teachers affect theirperformance of participating in management, we present the strategies aiming at asignificant improvement. First of all, relevant laws and acts should be set up toguarantee legal validity for teachers’ participation in management. Second, structural reform within schools should be upgraded to maintain correspondent regulations; Third,consolidate the principal’s sense of democratic management; the last but not the least,increase teachers’ consciousness and ability to get involved in school management.
