Graduates involve in university-management affairs is the need and trend of higher education’s reform and development in our country. The implementation of students’ participation rights is significant for promoting university’s scientific management decisions and efficient management implementation. It also has certain theoretical and practical significance for the restructuring of internal governance management, students’ democratic power play of participating in school affairs, and the improvement of modern university’s system. Although the significance of students’ involvement in school affairs has already been recognized by most universities, it has not been effectively practiced in reality.The beginning of this paper briefly describes the current research status and background, and thus leads to the issues to be discussed. The body of the paper contains four parts:the first part introduces some related concepts about participatory management, its positive meaning and key factors in the process of implementing it. How these participatory management theories guide the students’activity in school-affair involvement, and the meaning of these activities. The second part contains the analysis on some universities’constitution and the analysis on the survey data collected from some universities in Shanxi province about the existing problems in the above-mentioned activities and their causing reasons. The third part analyzes China’s students’improving mechanism in participating school affairs. This part also states the comparison and contrast of this participation among universities in America, Great Britain, and Germany. The analysis found that some key factors of involving management can inspire students’actual management activity and thus conclude some aspects needed to be improved. In the fourth part, On the basis of the improvement path analysis, Combined with the situation to promote college students a sense of ownership. Some improving methods are concluded from the aspects of students’personal conditions, the design of universities management system, the construction of safeguard mechanism, and the construction of related organizations. The conclusion part is the summary of this whole paper. Besides, it points out the defects of this study and its future research direction.
