The sense of modern education requires students to strengthen the independent learning, reflects the " people-oriented " education, and preview is an important way to cultivate students’ self-learning ability. However I find that the high grade of elementary school students is weak in autonomous learning and they don’t have a good preview policy. The purpose of this research is exploring the ways and methods of cultivating students’ autonomous learning ability by previewing, helping the students improve the learning method and autonomous learning ability.There are five parts in this paper. In the first part, the introduction presents the purpose of writing and states the significance of the study. In the second part, it describes Introduces the related research about preview policy and autonomous learning, including core concepts, theoretical basis, as well as related research at home and abroad. In the fourth part, it introduces the design and program of preview strategy in the upper elementary English autonomous learning process, includes the design and implementation of the experiment. In the fourth part, it statistics and analysis of data on the pre-test and post-test questionnaire and test papers results. In the last part, the thesis sums up the research results and points out the shortcomings of the present study.
